Envy: GEMsEnvy – The Green Eyed Monsters
Tony is in the middle of god knows what, but it looks important because he’s cut metal and sparks are flying passed the goggles on his face. He smiles when he hears hesitant footsteps. He can tell it’s the steps of a certain person used to walking on eggshells. Potts is out confirming for the millionth time that Tony isn’t creating weapons of mass destruction. Rephrase: he isn’t creating weapons of mass destruction he tends to use.
No, these steps were different from Potts’ confident steps. He stops what he’s working on because he’s intrigued and amused. “What do I owe the pleasure,” he turns to his visitor and gives him a shit-eating grin, “Doctor Banner?”
“What is this?” Said doctor asks placing a package wrapped in green paper and matching bow onto a work counter.
“It’s your birthday, is it not?” Tony asks as if it were a casual subject and it would
VampH 101 Chapter 11Slamming the doors to the school open Pete made his way out into the dark city streets. He sighed softly the breath hanging in the cool air for a moment before dissipating. He knew where to head first, he had to get information and the only place he could get that was at Travi's place.
The dark haired man walked down the deserted streets calmly. He knew that the area was protected by Travi's men and that he would be safe from attacks. It didn't take him long to get to the clinic and he quickly climbed the stairs and knocked on the familiar red door.
The door opens slowly at first, then Travi answers, "Well, if it ain't my favorite patient. I've been meaning to speak with ya. Come in." He welcomes Pete inside and walks him to one of the rooms inside the clinic. "I hope ya didn't run into any trouble while getting here. My men should be scoping out the perimeter. Haven't seen a rogue vampire around here for a few days now."
"Things have taken a turn for the worse Trav. Mikey and Gerard,
VampH 101 Chapter 10Chapter 10
Patrick just followed Pete inside the building while getting redirected to the room. As they entered the elevator and the doors closed, Patrick glanced at the climbing numbers before commenting, "Monsters? Jesus, I don't even know the definition of that word anymore. He couldn't possibly have meant vampires." Patrick cringed as he tried not to relive what had just happened, "If anyone's a monster, it's him. Fuck, humans scare me more than vampires."
A grim look set on Pete's face as he listened to Patrick. He didn't speak knowing that there were monsters everywhere... deep inside everyone there always lives a monster. It's just a matter of finding a way to overcome it. The elevator dings and the doors open allowing them to exit. They made their way over to the younger Way sitting outside a room while the doctors worked on Gerard.
Mikey stood up suddenly as he saw the two enter the floor. He pulled them both into a hug at once. "Thank you! Both of you, thank
VampH 101 Chapter 9Chapter 9
Patrick wakes the next morning with two arms around him and Pete’s head snuggling into his shoulder blades. Sometime in the middle of the morning, Pete must have snuck under the covers with him despite his paranoia about the sun. He smiled to himself and laced his fingers with Pete’s and just enjoyed this moment for a little while longer before he’d be forced to wake Pete for class.
It wasn’t long after the said vampire was nudged awake much to his displeasure. “Do we have to go?” He asked tiredly as he rubbed his eyes and sat up yawning. Seeing Patrick’s un-amused look he sighed and rolled out of bed, “Alright, alright, I’m up…” he said as he pulled on his skinny-jeans and a t-shirt then looked in Patrick’s closet for one of his hoodies.
When Pete was done dressing, Patrick was already clothed in a button up and a teal argyle sweater vest. He was deciding between two hats in his hands w
VampH 101 Chapter 8
Patrick already felt like the biggest creep driving up to the nearest 7/11 sporting his baggiest hoodie, a half hard-on, whilst buying a box of condoms. He almost didn't buy them. It took him a few circuits down the medicine isle and picking up a monster and a candy bar just to hide the fact he just came there for them.
The guy at the register just smirked at him and made him feel even more uncomfortable when he said, "Someone's getting lucky tonight."
He usually doesn't snap on people, but he was tired, irritated, and horny as hell. "Just do your job and tell me how much I owe you."
The cashier gave him his total and mumbled something about a man-period, and Patrick wasn't even going to go there. He stomped back to his car and chugged the monster as he drove back to the dorms.
It tore Pete up knowing that he let Patrick go out alone. For all he knew some rogue vampire could have jumped him and killed him. He shook his head, no, Patrick wouldn't go o
All Here For A ReasonI turned onto a shady, well-manicured driveway that, for all intents and purposes, looked harmless enough. Maple trees lined both sides of the street, and a parade of Canadian geese marched across the road to a wide duck pond with a flamboyant fountain. There were blooming crepe myrtles and rose-of-sharons, and as I grew closer to my destination, neatly trimmed gardens with neatly trimmed bushes.
I stopped to let the geese pass. They looked at me; one hissed. I honked my horn and moved around them.
At the end of the road sat a collection of grayish buildings and a number of signs directing me to the appropriate parking lot. "Welcome to Ten Creeks Hospital," said one of them. "Please enjoy your stay." I parked in the visitor's lot. Surely I wouldn't be staying.
I was shaking when I got out of my car. I had spent the morning getting high. One foot in front of the other, flip-flop noises, hot sidewalk. Mulberry and magnolia trees, freshly shaved grass. A bench and pan for smokers. A set o
